Fabrizio Agosta is a structural geologist whose main research focuses on fault and fracture analysis. Specific themes are, mechanical stratigraphy, faulting processes, fault permeability, and fault and fluid interaction. He is also interested on the structural setting of the Apennines fold-and-thrust belt.
Fabrizio worked in Italy, USA, Greece, and Spain. Currently, he is an assistant professor at the Science Department of the Basilicata University, Italy, and co-director of the Reservoir Characterization Project.
Sergio G. Longhitano is a clastic sedimentologist, with main scientific interest on physical stratigraphy and processes of sediment transport and deposition in modern and ancient systems. Specific research themes are coastal dynamics of modern environments, tide-dominated/influenced marine systems, facies analysis and sequence stratigraphy of ancient deltaic deposits, sedimentology of clastic petroleum systems.
Presently, he is researcher/assistant professor with tenure position at the Basilicata University in Potenza, in southern Italy.
Basform is a cultural association aimed at divulging the cultural heritage and traditions of Basilicata trought out the Meditteranean area.
Basform has been organizing the Petroleum Geology Student Contest since 2015.
